I take a holistic and collaborative approach, using techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based practices. I also utilize play-therapy and art-therapy based techniques as needed. I support clients in exploring how their physical, emotional, mental, and even spiritual health intersect to impact their well-being.
In addition, I am Somatic Trauma Therapy Certified. While traditional talk therapy focuses on the what and the why, somatic trauma therapy focuses on how the what and the why show up for you. I believe that your body carries the story of your life, often holding onto experiences that your mind is still trying to process.
As a certified Somatic Trauma Therapist, I help you bridge the gap between your thoughts and your physical sensations. We won’t just talk about your anxiety or your past; we will look at how your nervous system is responding to them in real-time. By learning to listen to your body’s signals- the tightness in your chest, the shallow breath, or the restorative sigh- we work together to regulate your nervous system and find a genuine sense of safety from the inside out.
In my free time, I love to surround myself with my friends and family, go to yoga, read, be in nature, and travel. I am also a cat mom!
